Autumn Reflections
October 10, 2023
Leaves spiral downward,
Dancing with invisible winds,
Their russet and gold
A final celebration.
I watch from my window,
Counting the days
Since I last felt
The warmth of summer on my skin.
Time moves differently now,
Measured in cups of tea,
In pages turned,
In memories revisited.
The trees surrender gracefully
To their inevitable undressing,
Teaching me how to let go
With dignity and trust.
